Font problems in Fluxbox

I'm running FB on RH9. I have installed the artwiz fonts and they are correctly listed in the path; however, when I change themes, the fonts don't seem to be correct

for example: AlmostX --> font aqui is present and accounted for, theme file is correct but wrong font shows. I tried both aliased and non-aliased settings and although the fonts are different, NEITHER is correct.

FB seems to be using the same set of generic fonts for all themes.

Also, speaking of aliased vs. non-aliased, when the latter is used, FB is sloooooow but, turn on aliasing and it flies! Could these be related?

did you complie fluxbox yourself? if so - did you enable xft (or whatever option they are calling their AA font support)? if you installed it from an RPM, did the person who made the RPM include AA font support?

ps: where did you get the aqui font? ive loked for that a ton of times and never found it. is it part of artwiz?

You get around man :D Thanks for all your help. I'm actually starting to get to the point that I can help other newbs :p

I did compile FB. I used the unmodified ./configure so I'm not sure if the AA font support is built or not. Could there be a RH proggie or option that I missed? Seems like AA is OK because toggling the option (in FB) changes the font and AA=on is using a smooth arial but who knows? Is there an easy way to check?

Yes. aqui is part of the artwiz pack.

open up the configure file in the source code directory and browse through it - or look at the README or INSTALL documents in there.

in openbox you have to explicitly turn it on to get it so i wouldn't be surprised if flux had the same thing.
