my network. I have 4 computers:
celery 750; 96mb ram; 15gb hd; g400 vid
2* pentium 200; 32mb ram; 8gb hd; s3 video
pentium 166; 16mb ram; 2gb hd; s3 video
Now the requirements.
The 750 has to have windows for the wife and games, the rest are all linux. I have a DSL line, so a firewall would be nice, but it has to have dial on demand and ipmasq. I am thinking that the p200's would make a nice beowulf, but what can I use it for? Really, other than the 750, everything is flexible.
I could use the following:
fileserver/intranet server for testing webpages b4 uploading to Virtualave
rc5 keycracker
firewall/gateway
second web-surfing staion
beowulf, but what for?
Where do you come in?
Give me an idea of how to configure my network, what the boxen should be used for, any configuration advice, or just call me an ******* and go to the next discussion.
What does this wanker know?
I have a lot of RedHat experience. I have never made a firewall that works, but I probably could given some time. I also know Debian, but wvdial hangs at the "starting ppp" point which really limits its usefulness.
