hello there!

first, you need to copy the CD-ROM contents into an existing partition in your hard drive. now, since you already have the hd.img written to a floppy disk, all you have to do now is to boot your system using that floppy. When the mandrake installation program asks you for the location of the files you copied from the CD-ROM, just specify the partition where you copied them. After that, the install process would work just the same as that of a normal CD-ROM install process. :)

hello again,

you said that when you boot your system using the floppy, it fails... what was the error message?

you should copy the files as it appears in the CDs... so if you placed it in a folder named 'temp', when you read that folder the files should be organized in a way that what you see is similar to reading the contents of the 2 CDs... one more thing, i'm not sure if the mandrake installer would recognize NTFS partitions, because I've tried HD installs from FAT32 partitions only...

it doesn't matter though, but i recommend placing the contents of the install CDs in a separate partition. :)
