Hello friends:

I installed Mandrake 8.0 beta 1 a few days ago; all in all, I find it quite good. I do realize, however, that being only in beta development, it has a few "buggy" attributes. Here's one such anomolie that bothers me. During shutdown, it hangs consistently during the unmounting of local drives. I presume this to be the init: 1 stage? I don't understand Linux well enough yet to fully know where this takes place in the order of procedure. I don't know which system files to check to see if there's something I can manually repair. Any experienced help would be very much appreciated. If it's needful information, here's the system I'm running:

AMD Duron 800

Epox 8KTA+ MB

Gforce 2 mx

2 hardrives (20 gig fujisu) & (40 gig Maxtor)

Windows ME, Win 2000 - Me on hda1 and Win2k on hdb5.

One main Linux partition (just trying Mandrake again) - hda7
