Slackware 8 pppsetup

I just installed Slackware 8. I have a US Robotics 56K USB Faxmodem. I'm now dealing with pppsetup (and the problems I'm having are fun, but...), I need a link (I don't expect anyone to do my work). I've gotten this far: I was told that my general configuration options for PPPD are:
lock
default
noipdefault
modem
/dev/ttyS2
230400
crtscts
I know there are mans or howtos that I haven't read. Can you put me on track, please? TYIA.
