Hi, I am currently running Red Hat 8 and was wondering, how much better is Red Hat 9? I'm just wondering if it's much better than 8 because it's not that easy to get here in Kingston Ontario where they seem to think that Mandrake is the only distro of Linux (don't get me wrong, I like Mandrake and all, I just prefer RH). Although they do have RedHat 8 for Dummies at most of the bookstores, just no Linux at the Computer stores (except Staples). Thanks in advance for any advice, I appriciate it!
P.S. Dosen't it piss you off that most computer stores don't think Linux is important to carry? I work on a comms base, alot of us are into Linux and they could easily carry Linux and sell it, but they sell Windows even though nobody buys it! (those of us who do use it copy it) I don't use Windows at all.

for me RH 9 runs much smother on my box then 8 did. it just seems more responsive. I have been running RH 9 for like 3 months now & I haven't had major problems. Have you thought about ordering a boxed set online directly from RH. you can get the personal version from here http://www.redhat.com/software/linux/personal/

as far has computer stores not careening linux on store shelves. I guess it depends on where you live in my neck of the woods I can go to best buy & pick up a boxed set. But I order most of my computer hardware & software online so I guess it's not a big deal for me:D if you get a chance I would give RH 9 a spin :D
