When I am installing mandrake 9.1 I cant seem to get the video configured. There is a button that say test settings anb I always get an error like screens avalibile but none for my current configurations, so of course I ignore it to see what else will happen and I continue with the install. Everything goes well untill its actually time to start mandrake. I get all the way through the boot and I hit a screen that is all text based and askes for my login. So I type root and then my password and then at the next command line startx. Thats when I get this error.
XIO: fatal IO error (104 connection reset by peer on X server) ":0.0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining
I was curious if this is because I cannot get my display configured properly. I have an ATI 9700pro video card. If there is anyother information you need to know to help me answer my question and maybe get me headed on the right path please ask. Any and all help is always greatly appreicated.
