Running Redhat 9... and I'm trying to install MySQL rpms on it. When install mysql-3.23.54a-11.i386.rpm, RPM requires me to first install perl-DBD-MySQL... so I tried to install perl-DBD-MySQL-2.1021-3.i386.rpm, and RPM requires me to install libmysqlclient.so.10, which can only be found in mysql-3.23.54a.11.i386.rpm.

What should be done to fulfill these silly dependencies?

not sure but have you tried installing the MySQL-client rpms?
