Sorry to ask this lame question.... how do you add new applications into the KDE menu? Where are the files that make up the menu stored?

If only programs would add themselves in :-)

Right klick on the K Button..... menu editor should be the 2nd option from the bottom on the pop up menu. Click on it and off you go...

I'm using Mandrake 9..... and have little experience with other flavours of linux... I hope this helps!

Nice one, thanks... actually just found that as you replied.

Strange thing... I can see the applications in the menu editor, but they're not on the menu. For example Opera - according to the editor it's in Networking, WWW. But in that menu, it isn't listed.

I'm on Mandrake 9.1 too....

That's because Mandrake in trying to impose it's own meny structure over top of the KDE one. *They do that for seemless transition between desktop environments- Gnome, IceWM, etc*. The only way I found around it was to create a new user, in the 1001+ range.

Ugly and clunky I know, but it worked!

Thanks, I'll try that.

Is there a way to make Mandrake behave? Anyone?
