Is the stability really as big of an issue as it's made out to be or is it just more of a warning to cover them if anything does go wrong?
I'm using my computer just as a home desktop but i still don't want it crashing all the time.

I don't think you'll have to worry about it. Its just one of those cover your butt messages. Anyway, Sid(Unstable) works fine on my box.

Hey Frox,

Unstable is as stable as any other distro running recent software. There may be some situations where apt-get may be confused with dependency problems with all of the new versions of packages changing so frequently.

Other than that it seems to be very stable for me.

Just make sure you have a reasonably fast internet connection, cause things tend to change a lot quicker in unstable than in stable or testing.
