Virtual Desktop: How to disable?

ok im runnign slackware 8 and i just got my internet up (hurray!!)
ok so now im not gonna be using windows much,and i wanna know how do i disable the virtual desktop? i said NO when it asked if i wanted it when i made my xfree86 config file and i dont want it!! so how do i get rid of it?

If you have multiple resolutions defined, then the highest resolution will always be the size of your desktop. If you have 1600X1200 defined, but you're running at 800X600, you'll have a 1600X1200 desktop.

im running at 800x600
and i have 1024x768 specified as my highest resolution
ill just edit the modes in my xfree file

Edit your XF86Config(-4) and change all the virtual 1024 768 lines to virtual 0 0.

It could also be ViewPort, so change that to ViewPort 0 0 if necessary.
