Loading Mandrake 8.0 on Laptop with PCMCIA CD

I have a laptop (Acer Travelmate 312T) with a PCMCIA CD drive. The Mandrake install CD will not boot and when I try using the floppy boot disk it does not see the CD drive and does not allow any other install options (I have copied the install CD to the 'D' partition on the hard drive.
Can anyone help?

Check the Mandrake install cd for i.e. pcmcia.img and use that instead of install or boot.img.

Mandrake should have the pcmcia image on the cd. If not, then check their ftp servers.
