I haven't tried this but it looks really interesting. If anyone tries this then let me know how it went

Great thread! I personally was in the process of collecting some old machines to build a cluster with. I'm at 4 now, I'll probably start once I get enough to fill up an eight-port hub...

Thanks a lot for pointing out that MOSIX HowTo.
I've been looking for a way to cluster at least 2 (and more) nodes easily over a LAN without using having any special requiremets: ie) serial cables or a dedicated storage device (SAN).....
I also found this link a few days ago: Its a HowTo on setting up a 2 node cluster (once again - easily with no high end equipment or requirements) with HeartBeat.....another option if anyone would rather do this one.
