need help

Will i try to get this setup for my laptop with my cell phone.


How would i setup to use /dev/ttyS0, i try to setup to ppp so it would with my serial port and with minicom.


Can anyone help me? :confused: :confused:

man setserial--thats about all i can do for ya never have tried to setup and dial modem of anykind--got a lan connection--

login as root or su and run minicom from the terminal. there's a setup section where you can enter your isp info like phone ## to dial, username, password, etc.
if you're sure your modem ain't winmodem, then you can go right ahead and select /dev/ttyS0 as your modem and query it. if you don't get any errors then you're all set to dial in and use your modem.

also some distro comes with pppconfig use that if you have it.
