I have recently purchased a 40Gig hard drive and am planning on setting up a dual boot system between Slackware and Win98. How should I partition my hard drive? Thanks.

Has it been answered to death in the past? Yes. Anyway, gl with Slack. Seems a bit too minimalist for me. knowledgepeacewi 03-12-2001, 02:21 AM Kadesh is right on both counts but were I you I'd make my Linux Partition at least 2GB but Probably put it around 8Gig or 10 Gig. That leaves a lot of space for windows. I have a 40gig windows partition and loaded everything I have on it and it isn't even half full. good luck. Bradmont 03-12-2001, 02:40 AM Hehe... My win part is ~ 10 gigs, my / part is about 200 MB, my /home ~2 Gig, my /usr ~7 Gig, /var ~300 MB, /tmp ~50 MB, /mp3s 10 GB, and I've still got about 20 Gigs unassigned on my second harddrive ;). This setup works well. justlinux.com
