Samba Newbie--HELP!!

I have just set up Red Hat 8.0 on a machine, and I can't browse the network (about 300 Computers)... The internet works fine, just that I can't browse the network..


I take it this is a SAMBA issue. I have edited the samba.conf file, but to no avail.

HELP! is kind of lame. We're here to help, so you don't need to cry for it when it's as freely available as it is here.

Have you tried checking out the documentation on www.samba.org? They have a TON of help there.

The only reason I suggest this instead of helping to troubleshoot your problem is because you've provided no details of your network. Is it a NETBEUI network? Do you log into a domain, or is it one big workgroup? There are a number of factors, so try reading some of the help at the site I gave you above. If you think you might have run it down, post back here, and maybe someone can give you a solution.
