I was wondering something - What's up with Linux (and this seems to be any Linux) not being able to play to streams of sound at the same time. For example, I have XMMS playing and someone IMs me (I did manage to fix GAIM, BTW) - I only get sound out of XMMS. While under Windows, I can hear sound from both. Is there a way to fix this "dual-sound" problem? I've been reading faqs, and the only thing I found is that there really ISN'T a way to fix this - but I thought I'd ask, figuring that someone may know some random piece of information.

you may need to enable full-duplex on your sound server.

Yeah...I tried enabling it before, but my sound server kept crashing on me. But...I'll give it another try. See if it fixes things up.
