I don't know about the rest of you but I'm kinda curious about WinXP and linux on the same hard drive. Does windows XP scan master book records or is it safe to run Lilo and such.

Yes it worked for me i installed xp and it over wrote my mbr as i expected. But then i booted linux with a linux boot disk and reinstalled lilo and all is well.

You can also use Windows XP's boot loader if you are worried about installing LILO on your MBR. The Windows XP boot loader will load up LILO and then boot Linux:
