default kernel switch

Hello all!

I have a small question. Can anyone tell me how to change the default kernel? I am running RH9 and I have updated to the newest kernel. The prob is, when I boot up, the old kernel is selected as default. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't that mean if I leave it be, it will load the old kernel if I am not there to switch it?

I still have a lot to learn, but that's ok with me:)

are you using grub?? or what?? if grub then go into /boot/grub and edit the grub.conf file

just remember that numbering starts with 0 not 1
