I'm having trouble getting Red Hat 9 to install on my Thinkpad A22p. I boot from the install disk and get the initial install screen. From there I enter either the graphical install or text install and I get a blank screen and it just sits there. I've installed successfully on my T23 so I know the disks are good.
Any ideas?

I've had problems with my A22p as well. I've tried installing Suse 8.1 and RH 9.0 on it but neither one have successfully started X. Something about the LCD they don't like and I don't know what to make of it. Amazingly I got the wireless nic to work with Suse....LOL So that is one good thing. Now if I could just get X working........

See if the A22P models at http://www.linux-on-laptops.com/ibm.html have anything to help with installing.

I've personally had problems getting both Red Hat 9 and Red Hat 8 to install on any laptops.... They all have one of the following problems:
"memory dump... comes up with a bunch of errors, says memory dump, and asks if I want to save errors to floppy"
"X wont start because monitor cannot be probed"
or
"No hard drive found"
I don't know if you want to do this, but if you get RH 7.3, it will install fine, and then you can just upgrade from red hat 9... that usually works for me.

Cool. I'll give it a try. I've been reading a bunch of stuff this morning about that issue and it seems like the the older versions work just fine. I wonder what the deal is with that.
