I have a postfix mail server on a RH9 box. My hostname configured on the machine is machinename.domain.com and all the DNS works fine. There isn't any amount of traffic on the server, so that should not be why it responds slowly. POP3 works very fast, and yes I have checked and saw something about this in the Postfix docs but its very brief and really doesn't address a solution to my issue. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.
The response is very slow, 10-15 seconds, its not normal. But the major thing is that i use NO-IP, for Mail-Reflector only, I have a static (i need it cuz they would shut me down if they saw a mail server on port25) and before you can use their port 25 redirector their site's script has to test to see if you have a mail server, and it times out before it sees it, but I know its up. For instance if you 'telnet mybox 25" it will be very slow.
Thanks in advance if I get any help
