First I have been using Linux for all of 2 days or so for the first time ever(SuSE)
I dig it though the learning curve is steep.
I still need some windows aps for office work especially as I use MYOB to run a manufacturing busines. I often have to boot back to windows for thisand then back to linux to create reports in Star Office which i dig,its good as ms office 2000 and fully compatible so far. Running windows aps could be a real bonus for myself . I dont know what the vmware is worth but i wouldnt be willing to pay much for it on my limited budget as u still have to install windows within it anyway. Maybe onday they will have MYOB for Linux. Sorry bout this. Its just my late night thoughts not a question. :D , Also I dig this forum style. Seems comon on other sites so must be prety popular.

Welcome to Linux.... I have VMWARE express, cost me about $80. ITs nice though, to watch windows boot up in a window on linux.

There are probably many alternatives for you though. WINE is a program that emulates windows. It's not too terribly difficult to configure, and lots of people have had success with it. I even got MSOffice to run once.

Good Luck-

Thankyou for your welcome :)
I guess u mean $80 american which means $160 Aus dollars to me :(

I'll look into wine, could be the answer for me, I really only want to run the accounting win program MYOB wich runs under win 95 or others. Still I might consider VMware in the longrun. I did get an evaluation copy of VMWARE came with my distro.(first il give Wine a go. cheers, Mike.
