rpmdrake not opening completely

Have updated Mandrake Linux 7.2 with 8.0
Rpmdrake does not open completely and freezes. Get child dies error message in console.
I also have curser imprints left in window when I move window around. I have tried
Kpackage as root, and it won't let me install or uninstall. Gnorpm the same.
Have verified with Gnorpm and it tells me of an error, but can't uninstall to correct.
machine is 133meg processor, 64 meg EDO ram,
1 meg video, 40 gig Maxtor drive with ezybios as bios will not recognise more than 8.6 gig,need it to run Win98 on first 20gig partition. Any ideas??

You've upgraded from 7.2 to 8.0? I've often heard upgrading can break many things.

You could try reinstalling whatever does not work correctly. Other than that, you might have to do a clean install of 8.0. Backup what you need first.
