I'm using Mandrake 7.2
I've installed Windows on primary master (hda)
I want to install Linux on primary slave (hdb)
but the installer cant find it.
Is there anyway to fix this?

Would hdb happen to be connected to a ata66/100 controller?
Did you try the expert mode install?

Hmm... he did say "primary slave (hdb)", which would indicate the second drive on the first IDE channel. If it were on a controller card it would be something like hde, right?

If expert mode doesn't let you see your second drive, I'd check the master/slave jumpering and cable seating again.
Was the second drive previously partitioned for another OS?
BTW- good morning md (Logon Name Gone) watts. Hope you've got a fresh cup of coffee in your hand.

If using a motherboard with raid such as the KT7A-Raid, then you could be using hde. If you have a addon pci controller such as the Promise, then you would be using hde. Now if you just had a standard motherboard that was ata100 (controller on the motherboard), then your devices would be hda-d.
My Asus CUV4X-C is ata66 and uses hda-d and also my Abit KT7A with ata100 uses hda-d.
And good morning to you David. Guess I'm a little too late for that now. Actually at 7:28, I've already been at work for nearly 30 minutes and I'm having a cup of tea. Cup of coffee comes right after that.
Now what are you doing up a 4:28 California time? Just getting home, just getting up or haven't slept yet?
The latter; still haven't...
